Character Descriptions

Posted by Paul Orsett on March 23, 2013 at 12:35 AM Comments comments (0)

JEFF (male)

Age range: 20 - 35

Vocal range: G below middle C - top B

Brief description: Jeff is the shows composer, a Broadway enthusiast who especially likes obscure musicals and collects Playbills from shows that ran 50 shows or less. Jeff loves bird watching, computer games and comic book heroes, especially Wonder Woman. Jeff’s a realist, and while he has a great passion for creating, he worries about what others will think of his work.

HUNTER (male)

Age range: 20 -35

Vocal range: G below middle C - top B

Brief description: Hunter wrote the book for [title of show], he dreams about making it to Broadway and one day winning a Tony Award. Hunter enjoys watching trashy reality television and1980’s Mega Musicals. He gets sweaty under his left armpit when nervous, and is often a little too eager to please.

HEIDI (female)

Age range: 20-35

Vocal range: F below middle C - top G (above stave)

Brief description: Heidi moved to New York to pursue her dreams of being an actress, and out of the four friends has the most Broadway experience (featuring in a number of ensembles and understudying lead roles). She is the ‘new girl’ of the group, having only worked with Jeff previously. She dreams of one day originating a role on Broadway, but because of her commitments with an upcoming production of “The Little Mermaid” she finds it hard to fully commit to [title of show] causing tension in the group. She’s a real good singer too.

SUSAN (female)

Age range: 28-35

Vocal range: F below middle C - top G (above stave)

Brief description: Quirky and kooky, Susan is truly an individual, a ‘Down Town’ artist who portrays the reality for many in the performing arts industry- maintaining a ‘day job’ to support her artistic endeavours. She enjoys turkey burgers, encouraging others to achieve their creative potential (aka killing vampires) and spending time with her friends Hunter and Jeff. She has some doubts about her singing ability and is at first reluctant about being friends with the ‘new girl’ Heidi.

"Thank you for bringing Bare: The Musical to Chapel Hill and the triangle area. It was a wonderful discovery for us of an ambitious, entertaining, thoughtful show performed by a very talented cast. My partner, Robert, and I enjoyed it very much and hope you will continue to bring this type of entertainment to our area in the future."
